In the old days, say the 1990s, I removed my makeup before I washed my face. It's a ritual passed down through generations, from our mothers and grandmothers.
With the new vocab, we're now "double cleansing". Just a contemporary term for using an oil-based product to remove mascara and long-wear products from our faces because your cleanser might not.
Pond's Cold Cream is the OG, the original makeup remover, the very best at removing the gunk. It's been around for over 150 years—so, clearly it works. I've used it since I started wearing makeup.
Yes, the first ingredient is mineral oil. Yes, the last ingredient is methylparaben. Neither bother my skin; it doesn't sit on my face for all that long; and, most importantly, my mother used it and it worked for her. I consider Pond's Cold Cream my family's legacy product.
No fancy names. No hip terms.
Always remember to remove your makeup before you wash your face.
